UK’s electronic travel authorisation scheme has opened for Qatari nationals

23 November 2023, 11:35 AM

The UK’s electronic travel authorisation (ETA) scheme has opened for Qatari nationals, who can now benefit from a smoother travel process.

  • Nationals of Qatar need an ETA if they’re travelling to the UK. They can apply now for an ETA on the UK ETA app, or online on GOV.UK
  • Nationals of Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates will need an ETA if they’re travelling to the UK on or after 22 February 2024 and can apply from 1 February 2024.

Who does not need an ETA?

Visitors to the UK do not need an ETA if they have either:

  • a visa
  • permission to live, work or study in the UK
  • a British or Irish passport

Guests may not need an ETA if they live in Ireland. Read more.

For a seamless travel experience, please ensure this information is communicated to guests and include their passport details, email addresses, and phone numbers in their bookings.
