The Maldivian government is increasing the departure taxes from 01 December 2024. Both the BQ (Maldives airport fees) and H9 (Airport development fee) taxes will increase for all tickets issued/reissued from all points of sale.

This increase applies to the tickets of all carriers and cabins (Economy, Business and First). Etihad Airways tickets are also affected.

The new tax changes will be applicable to all bookings made on/after 01 December. These changes will also apply to all tickets issued on/after 1 December regardless of the initial booking date.

We strongly encourage agents to ticket existing bookings on/before 30 November before the increase applies.
