As the first international carrier to operate a passenger service to Beijing, we’re delighted to be able to confirm our flight schedule for 2022.

Following our inaugural flight, the regular weekly service will commence on 6 July, and will be operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring Business and Economy cabins.

Change in test requirements for travel to China:

Guests must take a PCR test in the UAE no more than 24 hours before their flight – this cannot be taken at a G42 lab as per the requirements of the Chinese Embassy in the UAE. Applies on flight EY888 to Beijing from 6 July onwards.

• Please note: the 24-hour test is not required for travel to Shanghai on flight EY862 on Monday 4 July only. After this flight, the 24-hour test will be required on flights to Shanghai.

Etihad’s rules for flying to China also have several requirements which are additional to the requirements of the Embassy and must be followed carefully.

Guests will need to fulfill the entry and testing requirements listed on etihad.com/destinationguide including:

• Two negative PCR tests and a rapid IgM test taken a maximum of 48 hours before departure
• A negative PCR test taken no more than 24 hours before departure (cannot be taken at a G42 lab)
• A negative rapid PCR test taken no more than 12 hours before departure.

Flying from Beijing

Guests will need to fulfill the entry and testing requirements listed on etihad.com/destinationguide. To ensure a smooth journey, all travellers must:

• Hold a negative PCR test result taken no more than 72 hours before the flight departure to be able to enter the airport. Applies to all guests. Remember to check the testing regulations for their final destination – the most restrictive testing requirement will always apply.
• Check in online before they arrive – open from 30 hours before departure.
• Be Verified to Fly – guests can get Verified from 72 hours before the flight.
• Guests should allow extra time to travel to the airport, our check-in desks will open 3.5 hours before departure.
